Disability is a part of diversity, 公平与包容, but often times a very minimal, or non-existent part of an organization’s DEI strategy. This session is designed to provide attendees with information, tips and resources on disability inclusion best practices. It will explore the intersection between leadership and disability and the need for a much more expansive definition of leadership that fits disabled people in the post-Covid world; a fresh reflection on how more flexible and open definitions of what constitutes 'leadership' might empower marginalized groups to take on formal decision-making roles.

 

During this session, attendees will:

  • Learn what extent are disabled people making progress in/with leadership roles.

Disability Employment Awareness Resources

在与残疾学生合作时,应考虑以下几点:

  • 残疾学生也可能有天赋和才能,和/或有英语作为额外的语言和/或方言. 在某些情况下,学生可能需要不止一种多样性元素的支持
  • 残疾学生可以达到与同龄人相当的教育水平
  • 需要调整到一个学习区域的残疾学生可能不需要同样的调整到另一个学习区域
  • 并不是所有的残疾学生都需要对课程的各个方面进行调整
  • 具有相同残疾类别的学生并不总是需要相同的调整
  • 随着时间的推移,残疾学生可能需要不同程度的调整来发挥他们的潜力
  • Ongoing formative assessment, particularly pre-assessment, 确保学习区域的内容和调整符合学生的需求是否至关重要.
