What is 第九条?

 "No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal Financial Assistance." - 20 U.S.C. § 1681 & 34 C.F.R. 部分106
 
第九条 of the Education Amendments of 1972 prohibits discrimination based on sex in any educational programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. This includes sexual harassment or any acts of sexual misconduct.
 
Metropolitan College is committed to providing a safe 和 welcoming environment for all community members 和 prohibits acts of sexual harassment, including sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, 和 stalking.

Scope of 第九条

第九条 applies to institutions that receive federal financial assistance from U.S. Department of Education. Educational programs 和 activities that receive federal funds must operate in a nondiscriminatory manner. Some key issue areas in which recipients have 第九条 obligations are: recruitment, 招生, 和 counseling; financial assistance; athletics; sex-based harassment; treatment of pregnant 和 parenting students; discipline; single-sex education; 和 employment. 第九条 also protects from retaliation individuals who make or participate in a complaint regarding something covered by 第九条.

Reminder: Any person who behaves in violation of 第九条 so that protected persons are unable to enjoy the programs 和/or activities of Metropolitan 社区 College could violate the statute on behalf of the college system.

What do you need to know?

If you or someone you know at OPE电子竞技官网 has experienced any of the prohibited behaviors addressed by 第九条 (listed above), you have the right to file a complaint with the College. The College must take reasonable steps to stop the prohibited conduct, prevent future reoccurrence of the conduct, 和 remedy the impact of the conduct on those felt its effects.
